A fund generating program turning commerce into community

CommUnity generates money for Kiwi CommUnity Groups by uniting merchants, community groups and everyday shoppers (like yourself) to support and strengthen one another.

Every time a CommUnity Member shops at a participating CommUnity Merchant, a small percentage of each transaction is passed onto the CommUnity Groups or charities of that Member’s choosing. It’s that simple.

What people are saying about us

Koha Apparel Phil Goff and Chlöe Swarbrick.

Rolling out the welcome mat for Koha Apparel—our newest CommUnity Group on the block. Their mission? Provide clothing for New Zealanders doing it tough. In 2020 alone this not-for-profit kept close to 4,000 clothing items out of landfill by giving them a new life with those in need. We love their ethos of “take what you need, give what you can”. Charli and her team of volunteers have quickly gained momentum in Auckland, with planned expansion into the Bay of Plenty and Wellington. Needless to say, we can’t wait to help them generate ongoing funding. Does your local school, sports club, food bank, church or charity need a leg up? Learn how CommUnity can help turn commerce into community for your group.

"I met with Karlene Batchelor, Simon Wills both from CommUnity and Bronte Annandale from 'The Nest Community Hub' to hear about an new national initiative called CommUnity, Turning Commerce into Community that will be launching nationwide in March. A way for businesses and community groups to fundraise in the new technology era. It will raise money for causes you care about while you shop. So watch this space, you will be hearing more about it in the coming months!"

“When we opened Alpha Sports we knew we wanted to give something back to local charities, community groups & organisations... for Alpha Sports, this was really important. CommUnity gives us the platform to be able to do that, and more. How could you say no to giving back to your local Community... the same people that support us every day? Let’s do this!”

NZ Alopecia is a place for Alopecia sufferers to learn more about their condition, to view new developments and to reach out and connect with others.
